Road surface repair works will be carried out on the M5 Motorway in the proximity of Kecskemét between 11th and 25th September 2026 in the direction of Budapest between chainage 72 and 78. During the entire period of the road surface repair works the Lajosmizse weigh station in the direction of Budapest will be closed. On the main track two lanes are available for travelers twice in each direction, except during the installation and dismantling of the diversion. AKA Ltd. kindly asks road users to exercise patience due to the traffic restrictions caused by the repairs.

The repairs will expectedly start on 11th September 2026 on the aforementioned section. During the road surface repair works on the M5 Motorway the traffic between chainage 72 and 78 in the direction of Budapest will be temporarily diverted into the slow lane, then to the fast lane, and into the fast lane of the opposite side, thus ensuring two available lanes for travelers in each direction on the motorway. At the Kecskemét north interchange at chainage 74 for traffic heading towards Budapest, leaving the motorway is not possible, but entering it is provided on a shortened stretch. Leaving the M5 Motorway will be possible at the Kecskemét north bypass interchange at chainage 81 or the Lajosmizse interchange at chainage 68. During this period on the M5 Motorway in the direction of Budapest the Lajosmizse weigh station at chainage 72 will be closed. Hetény rest area at km section 76 remains accessible for travelers.
The repair works are expected to be completed by 25th September 2026. Speed limits of 60 km/h and 80 km/h are to be expected within the aforementioned section.

Information about current traffic restrictions and diversions will be continuously provided by Útinform on their website www.utinform.hu, and by AKA Ltd. on their website www.aka.hu as well as the operator – A-WAY Ltd.
AKA Ltd. asks travelers to drive more carefully and pay attention to colleagues working in the diversion, keeping the speed limit on the M5 Motorway. Unforeseeable events may result in changes to the aforementioned schedule. AKA Ltd. reserves the right to modify the schedule of the maintenance works.

We wish you a safe trip!
