Road surface repair works will be carried out on the M5 Motorway in the proximity of Kecskemét between 26th October and 20th November 2026 in the direction of Budapest between chainage 85 and 89. During the road surface repair works, traffic will be diverted at the technical crossings between chainage 84 and 90. On the main track two lanes are available for travelers twice in each direction, except during the installation and dismantling of the diversion. AKA Ltd. kindly asks road users to exercise patience due to the traffic restrictions caused by the repairs.

During the first phase of the road surface repair works – between 26th October and 7th November 2026 – on the M5 Motorway the traffic in the direction of Budapest between chainage 84 and 90 will be temporarily diverted into the emergency lane, then to the fast lane, and into the fast lane of the opposite side, thus ensuring two available lanes for travelers in each direction on the motorway.
During the second phase of the road surface repair works – expectedly between 9th and 20th November 2026 – on the M5 Motorway the traffic in the direction of Budapest between chainage 84 and 90 will be temporarily diverted into the fast lane and into the fast lane of the opposite side.
For the entire duration of the works, at the Kecskemét west interchange at chainage 86 for traffic heading towards Budapest, leaving and entering the motorway is possible on a shortened stretch. For traffic heading towards Szeged leaving the motorway remains the same, but at the onramp motorists must be prepared to yield the right-of-way at the STOP sign before entering the motorway. The repair works are expected to be completed by 20th November 2026. A speed limit of 60 km/h is to be expected within the aforementioned section.
Information about current traffic restrictions and diversions will be continuously provided by Útinform on their website www.utinform.hu, and by AKA Ltd. on their website www.aka.hu as well as the operator – A-WAY Ltd.
AKA Ltd. asks travelers to drive more carefully and pay attention to colleagues working in the diversion, keeping the speed limit on the M5 Motorway. Unforeseeable events may result in changes to the aforementioned schedule. AKA Ltd. reserves the right to modify the schedule of the maintenance works.
We wish you a safe trip!
