Due to construction of the M44 Expressway, gantry structures will be constructed on both sides of the M5 Motorway in the proximity of Kecskemét between 16th and 19th September 2025. All traffic on the M5 motorway in both directions will be periodically stopped under police control while the base bodies of the gantry structures are being hoisted into place. AKA Ltd. kindly asks road users to exercise patience due to the traffic restrictions caused by the repairs.

Between 16th and 19th September, due to the construction of the M5-M44 interchange, halfway motorway closure will be implemented on the M5 Motorway four times a day starting from expectedly 9:00 a.m., while the concrete base bodies of the gantry structures are hoisted into their place. On 16th and 17th September, Tuesday and Wednesday, the works will be carried out on the section from Budapest to the direction of Szeged, while on 18th and 19th September, Thursday and Friday, the closure will be in effect periodically from Szeged to the direction of Budapest.
The traffic diversion necessary for the works is extended to further sections, entering the motorway in the direction of Budapest is possible on a temporary fast lane at Kecskemét North interchange.
During the construction works, the slow lane in the proximity of the gantry structure construction will be closed, traffic will be diverted into the fast lane with mobile traffic diversion. During hoisting the gantry base halfway motorway closure will be effect on these sections.
The weigh station will also be closed between 18th and 20th September 2025.
The works are expected to be completed by 19th September 2025. A speed limit of 60 km/h is to be expected within the aforementioned section.

AKA Ltd. asks travelers to drive more carefully and pay attention to colleagues working in the diversion, keeping the speed limit on the M5 Motorway. Unforeseeable events may result in changes to the aforementioned schedule. AKA Ltd. reserves the right to modify the schedule of the maintenance works.
